Josh Weathers Band
Although he’d be the last to admit it, Josh Weathers is a bonafide Fort Worth legend. His story is akin to his singer-songwriter sound, remarkable and continually evolving. He dedicated ten years to spending six nights a week in bars and clubs across America, refining his high-energy breed of rock n’soul and planting a flag for himself. Having shared the stage with Leon Russell, Galactic, The Wood Brothers, and Eddie Money, Josh has both played with and learned from the best. In July 2011, Josh performed at The Kessler Theater in Dallas, TX, and a grainy iPhone video of his Whitney Houston “I Will Always Love You” cover went viral. Over a million hits later and fielding subsequent propositions from talk show hosts Ellen DeGeneres and Conan O’Brien, Josh received exposure from national news outlets and gained notoriety in the process. After a self-proclaimed “spiritual awakening,” however, Josh stepped out of the limelight to pursue his higher calling. Alongside his wife, Kady, he embarked on a mission trip around the world. After witnessing what they deem as “things they can’t un-see,” Josh and Kady founded a nonprofit organization, Love Like You Mean It Int’l, devoted to bettering the lives of marginalized girls and young women. Their primary initiative is the completion of Hope Home, a school, home, and safe space for girls in a village in southern India. Josh has recently returned from his performance hiatus with a vengeance, using hisgift of sound and rhythm to benefit Love Like You Mean It. He believes music is “a tool that allows [him] to go out and do some good, because music has an amazing abilityto bring people together like nothing else can.” He looks forward to spreading joy and making people slap their knees in the next chapter of his saga.
